Although in the 2005 championship was leaded by the Chicago White Sox that won the championship by winning the Houston Astros for 4-0, this team is not among this years World Series favorites. New York at 6-1 is the early bet, although the have not won the World Series since the year 2000. However, the news about their investments in new players have placed them among this years favorite teams. St. Louis is listed at 7-1, Boston Red Sox at 8-1, and Houston Astros and White Sox are listed at 12-1, the same as Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Peter Childs, Odds Maker for Sportsbook.com, said that although New York has not won for years, they are a talented team and they have been favored by the roster. The Cubs, Minnesota and Florida are listed at 25-1. Los Angeles Dodgers are listed 40-1, the New York Mets at 30-1 and the Philadelphia Phillies at 25-1. The longest shot is Kansas City at 500-1.
