9 people were hospitalized at the Alfred Hospital and then taken for further treatment to the Royal Melbourne Hospital because a fire broke out at the Crown Casino in Melbourne in the morning. Fire engines belonging to the Metropolitan Fire Brigade received an emergency call a bit after seven thirty in the morning and found that a neon sign had burst into flames.
Ambulance from the Metropolitan Ambulance Service escorted 9 Crown Casino employees and took them to hospital because they suffered minor smoke inhalation.
The Metropolitan Fire Brigade put out the fire in less than half an hour.
