The bankrupt company Titan Cruise Lines will sell its 450 foot gambling ship Ocean Jewel. The company representatives hope the best offer will be displayed and approved by Judge Alexander Paskay on Wednesday.
The original plan was to sail the ship from the St. Petersburgs port in December 2002. Several difficulties stood in their way, including new security rules, Florida hurricanes, and navigation difficulties. The Ocean Jewel destination changed into an offshore casino in the Gulf of Mexico
Being a casino ship was problematic either. When the shuttles hit barriers, the gamblers were stuck on the ship. Last August Titan filed for bankruptcy, and stopped the ship activity in October. Creditors filed against Titan total 69 million dollars, but the selling ship will probably profit a lot less.
