American Roulette vs. European Roulette

The roulette is a very popular game, but it's more popular is Europe then in North America and not without a reason. The European roulette has 37 slots which contains 36 numbers and a zero while The North American roulette has an additional zero. This addition to the roulette gives the house the greater advantage, in other words-the players have more chances of losing then the house.

How to Play

The roulette is divided to 36 numbers which are marked as black or red alternately, and one or two green slots of zeros. The numbers are divided to two groups- the low numbers are from 1 to 18, and the high numbers are from 19 to 36. The players have three options of betting: on color, group or number. The players can place their bets until the point where the croupier starts to spin the wheel and tosses the ball in. the final landing spot of the ball is the winning number, color of group. After that the croupier collects the losing bets and pays the winning bets.

Pay Outs

• Winning bet on red, black, low or high pays even money.
• Winning bet on 1 to 12, 13 to 24, 25 to 36, or on the column in which the winning number falls pays 2 to 1.
• bet on the number itself pays 35 to 1.
• Bet between two numbers pays 17 to 1 when the winning number is one of the two.
• Bet on three numbers(when the chip is placed on the right of 3 numbers) pays 11 to1. This kind of bet is called a street bet.
• Bet on four numbers (when the chip is placed in the centre of 4 numbers), 8 to 1.
• Bet on five numbers (0,00,1,2,3) pays 6 to 1. This kind of bet is called Quint and the way to place it on the layout is to put the chip between the 00 and the 3.
• Bet on six numbers pays 5 to 1. This kind of bet is called the double street and the way to place it on the layout is to put the chip to the right between 2 rows of numbers.
• When a zero or double zero comes up the house pays bets on the zero and collects all other bets.
